Blackwater Falls State Park Blackwater Falls State Park
Blackwater Falls State Park is named for the falls of the Blackwater River whose amber-colored waters plunge five stories then twist and tumble through an eight-mile long gorge. The "black" water is a result of tannic acid from fallen hemlock and red spruce needles. The falls are one of the most photographed sites in West Virginia.

Welcome to our new 200 seat conference center and indoor pool at Blackwater Lodge. Other additions include: a new fully accessible guest cabin, new bathhouse at Pendleton Lake, upgraded and accessible day use restrooms and facilities and new accessible campsites.

We hope you'll come visit and see our new look.
